It's a Man Thing

With Father's Day being just around the corner a few challenges have a male theme to them.
I have made this card a few times before but with a football theme but this time I've used golf for the topper.  I'm  entering it into the challenges at

Paper Pretties Wednesday #312  a masculine card

Allsorts #261  for the guys

Sister Act #59  anything goes

The Pink Elephant #252  anything goes

613 Avenue Create
#73  anything goes with an optional twist of metal

The background paper is an old and ancient one from K & Co and I put a strip of sequin waste on the left hand side and inked through it using a Brilliance ink pad, moonlight, to echo the dimples on the golf ball.  The topper is also from very old stash and is one of the first items to be produced by LOTV .  For the sentiment I used the Manphabet stamps from Little Claire with Memento ink pad and coloured them with Promarkers. The topper and the lettering were attached to the card with 3D foam

Christmas card challenge

This week's challenge at Christmas Cards challenge #26 is an anything goes challenge.

This card has been made using a download from Crafts-U-Print by Janet Briggs.  It's the first time that I've used one of her designs and I'm very pleased with it. The only other things that I've used are adhesive tape from Create and Craft and Make It 3D foam squares and, of course, my computer and printer

Shabby Chic

I'm entering this card into the Creative Card Crew challenge for shabby chic/vintage

Also the As You Like It challenge which is for your favourite colour combo and why.  I love blue and white together, I don't think that any other combo could beat this for freshness

And Our Daily Bread Designs with a photo inspiraton

The Pink Elephant #252  Anything goes

Top Tip Tuesday which is a monochrome challenge

All the papers, and the paper ribbon, were computer generated from NitWit Cottage Charms collection. I edged the background papers with a Tim Holt Distress Ink pad.  The Happy Birthday die was a freebie with Simply Cards and Papercraft mounted on 3D foam

Carol Singer

The challenge at As You Like It is , do you prefer feathers or fur? and to say why you make the choice.
I am definitely a fur person.  There are so many adorable teddies, cats and dogs available for crafting you could probably make a card using them everyday forever and not use one of them twice!  I love so many stamps and digi stamps which enable me to colour them as I wish.  After saying that, this card uses a pre-printed decoupage image

I am also entering it into

Creative Card Crew #61 the challenge is music

Sister Act #56 anything goes

613 Avenue Create #71 is an anything goes challenge with an option to create a card using the recipe table which is provided

The decoupage and the backing papers are from a Forever Friends 8x8 pad.  I haven't used 3D foam on the layers, just Letratac dry adhesive which gives a subtle dimension while keeping it in the size for 5mm when posting.  I am really, really disappointed that Letraset have now discontinued this adhesive so I'm stocking up with it if I see it at a reasonable price.  Some retailers have hiked the price up I imagine for supply and demand :(  Moan over, back to my card!  I layered the decoupage onto green card and cut it out leaving a slight border, quite pleased that the border was more or less uniform around the picture.  Peeloff vertical greetings complete the design

Butterflies

The Allsorts challenge this time is to use butterflies

I'm also entering this card in the Whimsy Stamps challenge to use 2 or more die cuts.  I'm hoping this card is suitable for the challenge as it uses multiple die cut elements from a kit as opposed to using dies and a die cutting machine

Divas by Design and the challenge is In the Pink

I used the Hunkydory Tea Party collection to create this card.  I don't normally buy kits like this but when it was on offer for free just paying for p & p at £2.99 I thought it would come in handy at some point.  The only things that I've added are the gems, 3D foam pads and a Memento ink pad to ink around the edges of the backing paper

A Stitch in Time

The challenge at Tip Top Tuesday is to use numbers

I have a mini watercolour paper journal in which I'm practising art journalling. I'm taking the course with Lori at Elvie studio called Doodle Page, learning how to put a page together and letter formation.  As a very untidy writer and not at all artistic as regards drawing I've still got a long way to go !

I used a 2B pencil, eraser (!!), paper stump, Derwent Aquatone watercolour paints,Uni Pro fine liner and a fine nib Promarker for the thread.  To create the journal I used water colour heavy weight paper and my Bind-it-All

As You Like It

The challenge at As You Like It is to use you favourite item for recycling and say why. I collect ribbons from the shoulder seams of tops and dresses and ribbon and bows from gift items.  I love to use them as bows, as a border or slotted through some lace.  Collecting them this way means that I don't have to go out buy lots of ribbon in different colours as most of the time only a small amount is needed.  If I don't have the shade I want I use my Promarkers to colour the ribbon.  The family laugh at me as I carefully remove them and wonder who's card it will be on.  At least the 'boys' are safe lol.

I am also entering it into the ABC Christmas challenge I for Ice, the silver card is embossed cracked ice

Sister Act challenge 55 Anything Goes

Papertake Weekly Anything Goes

Word Art Wednesday 131  Anything Goes

The ribbon on this card was from a toiletries gift set last Christmas.

I used a Sweet Poppy stencil and Imagination Crafts Sparkle Medium in silver on semi-gloss red card.  When the paste was dry I trimmed the card and layered on silver cracked ice card, red again and then the silver before mounting the topper onto the card. To ensure that my layers were all the same distance apart I used Perfect Layers rulers.  When I lifted the stencil from the card I smudged some of the Sparkle Medium so I used the bow to cover it.  I tried smaller bows but they looked really silly where I needed it to be but, to me, this big chunky bow looked perfect and I used a couple of large glue dots from Stix2 to attach it to the card
