One for the Boys

I am gradually going through my box which houses all the photos that I want to scrapbook along with some of the elements that I want to use.

The story behind wanting to create this page is one that we honestly didn't think we would win this trophy.  Elizabeth got married to Martyn on the day before the FA Cup final, down in Torquay, so we went to a little pub in the town to watch the match on the big screen. Our GP has been the Wigan team doctor for many, many years and we always look out for him on televised matches.  This time we had a really good view of him as he was standing in clear view of the cameras when the teams lined up to go out onto the pitch.  The pub was packed and most people watching were supporting Wigan as the underdogs but we were the only ones cheering them on as proper fans.  At the end of the match it was so funny to see the doctor dancing around and running onto the pitch.  His surgery is closed on a Wednesday afternoon but one week he made arrangements to have the trophy on display and we went along to have a look.  He also had a recording of the match playing on the tv in the waiting room.  It was good to see the trophy close up and even hold it.

I am entering this page into the following challenges

613 Avenue Create #88   anything goes with an optional colour challenge from which I chose the colours blue, brown and white

Outlawz Saturday Paper a la Mode challenge  masculine

The background paper was plain blue so I stamped over it with some congratulations stamps and Versamark ink to give a watermarked effect. The striped border was made using a Spellbinders border die.  The paper matches the team shirt of blue and white stripes.  The footballs and boots were printed from my laptop using a crafting cd-rom Ella's Designs Boys 2 Men, some of which are mounted on 3D foam pads .  I used Memory Box Classic uppercase alphabet dies for the lettering and the Cuttlebug alphabet set Olivia for the numbers.  The centre photo is of the base of the trophy showing Wigan Athletic's name alongside the big names in football, Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea to name a few.  Above this photo you can see a green strip with a ribbon and brad attached.  This is a card that is printed with a football pitch image.  I have used the reverse of the card to journal the page and it sits behind the photo
