All my cards are done and delivered (or should be if Royal Mail has done its job). I'll try to get some decent photos of the cards that I made for Adrian and Elizabeth tomorrow, the light hasn't been too good for photos this week, or when it has been ok I've not been in to take the photos. I've run out of wrapping paper so I'll have to get some more tomorrow so I can finish it all.

It will be strange to celebrate Christmas on our own this year, first time since 1981. Michael is staying with his in-laws and Elizabeth has gone to her boyfriends parents. They will all be with us from the 29th and over the New Year. They made the arrangements between them so that they would see each other too. I suppose that it will be reversed next year and we'll have them over Christmas. Adrian's Dad has gone to a hotel for over Christmas so we won't be seeing him either, but no doubt Adrian's brother will pop round for an hour or so before lunch.

Creative Card Crew, Christmas Lights DT Card

For our latest challenge we are sponsored by Robyns-Fetish

I have used one of the beautiful Christmas backing papers for my card

I printed the paper twice so that I could layer them together

I cut the star burst from one of the papers and added silicone gel to give dimension. I used Glamour Dust for sparkle

I used the space in the design area to add my sentiment

I cut away the background from the paper where I had cut out the stars

I used more silicone gel to layer the foreground of the design and then, generously, added Glamour dust to provide the "Christmas Lights"

Materials used

Papers from our sponsor, Robyn's Fetish
Anita's peel off sentiment
Brilliance ink pad in Galaxy Gold to colour the base cardstock around the paper
Glamour Dust
Collall 3D gel
Quickie Glue Pen

Less is More #44

I don't know what's happened to my blog but the new post box has reverted back to how it used to be so all my linking tabs are up the wall and the pictures show up as their computer speak rather than the photo. I'm bound to have done something to it but I sure wish that I could get it back the other way

I'm entering this card in the simplylessismore challenge #44 using the colour green. I was so pleased with the way this turned out that I've made another 6 using green, red and blue inks. They all look quite classy, to me so I hope that you like this one

A close up of the corner detail with just a glimmer of sparkle

I added Glossy Accents to the baubles for dimension

A simple sentiment

Materials used

Corner stamp from Indigo-Blu
Sentiment by Dovecraft
Memento ink in Cottage Ivy
Quickie glue pen Glamour Dust
Glossy Accents
Gems from stash

If I had a brain I would be dangerous lol!!! Thought that I was all organised with my post pre-loaded to go live today with the challenge but silly me (a gross understatement) had done it with tomorrow's date!

This card is my DT card for the challenge at the CreativeCardCrew

I've been trying to use up all the bits and pieces that I've accumulated over the years and this card uses quite a few.

The ribbon has been passed through a slit in the spine and secured. I will be making a slip cover for the card and the ribbon used to pull the card out
The Santa and the tree were items that I'd received as part of a Christmas stash exchange a good while back. The tree was embossed with gold but I thought it was a bit dull so added some glitter
The linen card had been dry embossed with the snowflakes so I added some glitter to them too

Materials used

Ribbon from stash
All other items, apart from the white card I've mounted the decoupage on and the Mirri card, were from a Christmas stash exchange so I don't know the origins of them. the sentiment was computer generated and plenty of Glamour dust for the bling

Smiley face but no cards

today I finished the cross-stitch on my project.  Unfortunately I still have the back stitch to do.  Normally I don't mind it but anyone who has stitched a Tatty Teddy (Me to You Bear) will know what a nightmare it is to do.  There are so many stitches that need to be done into the centre of a cross it is better to use a sharp sewing needle rather than a tapestry needle.  But it will be worth it when it's finished.

On the down side, Adrian, Elizabeth and I went out to eat tonight.  Adrian had just finished his meal, Elizabeth was nearly finished and I pushed my plate away.  I have never felt so ill so suddenly before.  Apparently the colour just drained from my face.  Each time I stood up I had to sit down again before I passed out!!  Eventually made it to the car and by the time we got home I was feeling almost normal.  I asked if we could go back so that I could finish my steak, which was absolutely gorgeous, but they both gave me what I can only describe as "a look".  Don't know why it happened, we were having such a really good time, but at least I'm ok now.  Think I'll have a nice hot chocolate before I go to bed mmmmm!

Huge :o) lol

well here are 14 of the 15 that I said I was doing.  The reason there are only 14 is that I made one of them upside down, doh!!

I love this stamp and I have seen many beautiful cards using it.  I coloured all the toppers and then struggled to find a backing paper to suit the colours.  I think that it was Mel Heaton on Create & Craft who said that it's better to choose your backing paper first and then colour your image to suit.  I wish she'd said it before I coloured all these toppers lol
I used my ProMarkers to colour the scallop edged card to match the image
Materials used

LOTV nativity stamp
Cuddly Buddly sentiment stamp
Nestabilities from Spellbinders
Edgeabilities from Spellbinders
Backing papers from stash
Memento ink pads
