A smiley face but.........

..... no pictures of finished cards.  I've cut and folded 15 card blanks and inked the edges, made the toppers, cut paper ribbon (using one of the Edgeabilities dies) and inked the edges and stamped and cut out the sentiments. I've also put all the foam pads on the toppers and sentiments.  I was going to do each card in its entirety but thought that you all might think that I'm posting the same cards each day lol

I'm looking forward to making Bronwyne's first Christmas card from Granny and Granddad and I have two other first Christmas cards to do as well.

What I've been up to ........

After having a few days away in Scarborough (yes, again lol) it's time to knuckle down and get some crafting done!  I really must start my Christmas cards.    After Christmas I'm going to sort out all the Christmas stash that I have and have a sale on ebay.  I was going to put it on Folksey but I've had no luck in selling any of my makes on there.  I'm beginning to think that the only people who look at my items are just other crafters looking for ideas as I've asked here and there if anyone would look on Folksey to buy handmade items and everyone I've asked has never heard of the site.

I'm still on time with the cross-stitch project that I started when the previous two items went awry but you'll have to wait until after Christmas to see it.  I'm setting myself a target of at least three cards a day and I'm hoping to be able to use some of the challenges as inspiration.

I'll report in tomorrow night with either a :o) or a :o( depending on how well I've done

Bye for now :o)

Creative Card Crew Monochrome DT card

At long last I've been able to upload this card on to my blog.  I transferred all the files from my old laptop to my new one and managed to lose lots of them in cyber space in that they've completely disappeared from the old one and not all have gone on to the new one.  I'm a complete technophobe so heaven knows what I've done!!  After spending hours looking for the photos my daughter asked me why I hadn't just taken some more photos.  That's why she's got the first class honours degree and I haven't lol.  Anyway now that I've confessed to being a complete numpty I'll show you the card. You can see the rest of the DT's cards here Creative Card Crew

What a day!!!

Today started at 6.00am, I didn't know that there were 2 6o'clocks in 24hrs lol.  We had to be in Manchester Eye Hospital for 7.30am as our daughter was having an operation on her eye this morning.  I had got the directions to the hospital from the AA Route Planner and I was the navigator to hubby who was driving.  He dislikes driving anyway(I can't drive so he had to), and to be on the motorway 6.30am with nearly every other vehicle was a lorry and not actually knowing where he was going didn't put him in the best of moods!  He dropped us off at the hospital and then he had to go all the way home and then to Liverpool to work.  I was stressed out worrying about Elizabeth's operation and Adrian having to go back without any help with the navigation.

Elizabeth was first to go down to theatre at 8.45am and was back on the ward at 10am still groggy and in a lot of pain. by lunchtime she was back to her normal self but still with the pain, and she managed to eat a bit of lunch.   The operation went well but we won't know for at least a couple of weeks if it has been successful.  She was finally discharged at 6pm just as Adrian arrived to take us back home. She is now tucked up in bed with with a large hot chocolate with lots of whipped cream and talking to her boyfriend on the phone.  I don't think it will be long before she is asleep for the night.

I'm not looking forward to taking the dressing from her eye in the morning, cleaning it and putting her eye drops in.  :o(

My paper crafting mojo has gone for a walk and I think it can't find it's way home!!  So I thought I'd start on one of the cross stitch projects that I wanted to do as Christmas presents.  All fairly easy to do and I know they won't take me long to do.  The first one I tried was a cake band kit but the fabric was too narrow for the design.  Never mind I thought, go and cut a piece the right size from the fabric I have at home.  Got halfway through the first item on the band the thread broke.  That's it, I thought, forget that idea and start something else.  The next one was to be worked on 22ct aida which I can usually cope with ok but there was quite a lot of black and navy stitching and I found it quite difficult so I thought I'd redo the pattern for the same finished size but on 14ct instead.  Yippee everything was going ok until I realised that some of the stitches were on the pattern as a dark brown when they should have been green!!!  Managed to sort which should be green and which should be brown.  Then I thought that I'd best check all the other colours and the skin tones made the faces look as though they'd had a spray tan that had gone wrong :o(  So now I feel that I can't be bothered with that one either and I did so want to do it.  I've got one more project left to try so fingers and everything else crossed, prayers said and a lot of hope that this one is ok

It's only 10.30 and I think.......

.........that I'm going to have to go to bed!!!!  Anyone who knows me will know that I never go to bed before midnight and then I'm usually reading or playing sudoku on the DS.  The reason for this virtually unknown event is that Elizabeth and I had a day out in Chester.  We Christmas gift shopped, had lunch and then went for a back massage.  A bit disappointed with the shopping as I only bought one gift but the lunch was really scrummy, tomato and red pepper soup with big chunks of home-baked bread which I must really try to make and the massage was fantastic.  I think we will go for a massage again but somewhere nearer home as it took us just under two hours travelling both ways.
Night-night my friends..............Z z z z z z z z zzzzzzz

The Pink Elephant #123

The challenge for this week at The Pink Elephant is to use distressing

I used inks to edge the card and also over the embossing of the background
don't you just want to give him a cuddle

I think the design needs something in the bottom left-hand corner but everything that I tried just didn't work for me

Materials used

Morehead decoupage
Memento ink in sky blue around the white cardstock
Versamark ink pad on the embossed background
Cuttlebug embossing folder  Distressed Stripes
Nestabilities circle
