Creative Card Crew challenge

The Creative Card Crew Challenge for this fortnight is Anything Goes and our sponsor is KennyK Downloads  I have used a digi stamp from KennyK for my DT card.  It is so hard to find cards suitable for boys when they've outgrown the cutie style of card but are not yet into the teenage years.
I thought that this card would fit the bill quite nicely.  I also wanted to add a bit of movement to go with the tug of war image so decided to add a door to the layout.  With the image of the boys I thought two boys with a length of rope would definitely not be clean and tidy!  I used the distress ink to colourize the base card and the card the image was printed onto.  I have seen this done on many occasions watching demos at shows and on tv.  You never get to see the back of the cards and I find that I always get some transfer of colour from my non-stick mat to the back of the card.  I have started to colour the back too so that it blends well with the front of the card.
If anyone has any different ways of doing this technique without the transference of ink  I would love to know

At last!!

Adrian built a bookcase for me yesterday for my craft room so now I can make a start on moving my stuff there.  I still need more cupboards and shelves so I've started by moving the stuff that I don't use so much.  This way I can still craft downstairs.  It's been a holiday today in the UK so it's not been a day for crafting.  Will remedy that by making a couple of cards tomorrow

Happy crafting everyone!!

Meet Bronwyne Ann

She is absolutely adorable!!  It was so hard to leave her, she will have changed so much before I see her again.  Bronwyne is the double of Michael when he was born.  Everyone says that she's like her Dad even down to the hair style lol.  Michael had dark hair too when he was born but it changed to a white blonde after a couple of months.  It will be interesting to see if her hair changes or stays this colour more like her Mum

I look as though I'm asleep too but I wasn't, honest!

I'm sooooo excited!!!!!!!!!!

Well I'm all packed and ready to go, Germany here I come yeyyyyyy!!!!!!!

Off to bed shortly as we have to be up at 4.45am  to get to the airport.  In 12 hours time I could be giving my new granddaughter, Bronwyne, her first cuddles from her Granny.  I'm going to be taking loads of photos so be warned as I'll be showing you  some as soon as I can.

Happy crafting  :o)

And the winner is.........

....... Autumn Mist aka Jane!!!  Congratulations, let me know your address and  I'll pop the goodies in the post for you tomorrow.  I asked Adrian to pick a number and he picked number three.

Before Bronwyne was born I was going to be called Nanna but Michael, Elizabeth and Adrian have all called me Granny without them discussing it so Granny it is, or rather I am lol

Just finished knitting a little pair of slippers, soooo cute.  Going to start a little ballerina cardigan next.  I'm getting excited now, can't wait to see her

Not much crafting......

......being done here in cold, wet Wigan :o(  I'm busy sorting out stuff to take to Germany with me on Monday.  I've just finished a tiny pair of slippers and they are so cute,  I've asked Michael to measure Bronwyne's feet as the slippers look as though they'd be too small.  If so I'll have to knit another pair.  I'm taking my knitting with me as I can't just sit and do nothing although I'm hoping to have my hands full cuddling Bronwyne.  I can't wait to hold my gorgeous new granddaughter in my arms!!!!  With everything that I'm taking for the baby I'm having to take a case which is too big to be classed as hand luggage but coming home it will have so little in it.  Mmmmmmmmm maybe I could smuggle little Bronwyne home with me?  Or fill it up with lots of scrummy German biscuits and cookies.

I'm a Nanna!!!!!!!!!!

Hi everyone, at long last my daughter-in-law has given birth to our first grandchild :o)  We are now proud Grandparents to Bronwyne Ann who was delivered by c-section at 00.23 this morning.  She weighs 3.66kg, (8lbs 1oz in English money hehe) and is multi-national lol  English father, Irish mother, born in Germany and has a Welsh Christian name!!  We don't have any photos as yet as Michael is staying at the hospital with Aisling and baby Bronwyne.  They're hoping to go home on Sunday so, hopefully, will have some then.

I was supposed to be going over next Wednesday but I've put it back a few days and will be going over a week on Monday

Check back later as I'm going to put some blog candy up for grabs :o)

Baby update

My daughter-in-law went for her check up at the hospital yesterday and she was admitted to a ward because she is one week overdue.  They've started her induction but but it will be very mild for 48 hours so, hopefully, baby will arrive on Thursday or Friday.

I've booked my plane ticket to fly over to Germany Wednesday next week  :o)

ProMarkers and Letraset

How many of you have seen the new pens, Spectrum Noirs, on Create and Craft recently?  Yet another "must have"?  One of the selling points has been the fine nib which is finer than the ProMarkers.  If you're like me and have got a lot, or all, of the ProMarkers you probably can't afford to buy into another colouring craze.  But I've just found another product from Letraset which will be ideal for me and maybe you too.  You can buy a pack of three fine nibs which fit over the existing pen nib.  At £1.99 for a pack of three they'll give a fine nib at a fraction of the price of a new set of pens  :o)

You can check them out at the link on my side bar as well as all the Letraset products.  I can highly recommend the LetraTac too.  It's ideal for edge to edge adhesion on intricate paper craft detail
