Sizzling Sunday!

I can't believe that we've had three days of continual sun!

The tadpoles are loving it, we've still got loads swimming around and eating algae from the sides of the pond, the fish food (poor fish isn't getting a look-in) and dead tadpoles, yuk! This is the first year we've still had tadpoles at this time. All previous years they've all died off while they were still small. We're really hoping that we'll get some little froglets this time, watching them closely to see when they start growing their legs. I've been told it should be quite soon but we shall see.

Oh what a glorious day!

Today the sun shone which meant that a planned barbeque could take place. A friend was 50 yesterday and her family planned a surprise party for her today. The only thing her hubby had to do was keep her away from the house until 3.30-4.00pm while their three children cleaned the house, went and did loads of shopping for food, baked cakes, made sandwiches etc etc. So did the hubby complete his one task? No, failed completely and arrived back at home about 2.45 to find the back garden being transformed with a gazebo, tables and chairs and loads of balloons.

Anyway the party went well with lots of good company, and food lol. The only downside to the day was the fact that Everton got beat 2-1 by Chelsea in the FA Cup Final.

Feel absolutely shattered now so think I'll sign off and go and get some sleep

Orphanage update

Here's the latest news from India

A Cyclone hit West Bengal on Monday and it was bad enough to reach our guys in Ranaghat, the new Bethel house has some damage to it but our friends have got away relatively unscathed, apart from local flooding and lack of electricity. A team of our Indian Trustees are currently on the way down to the worst affected area in the Sunderbahns where we have set up the Cyclone pack distribution centre so aid should be getting through soon. We have been blessed with a further £600 since yesterday morning from various responses to facebook and email notifications

It didn't take long

.......for me to fall by the wayside and not make an entry to my blog! I always start things with vigour and then very easily get distracted, life just has a habit of getting in the way. Anyway I'm back now (but for how long? I ask myself lol).

I've been enjoying the forums on Craftbubble, especially the competitions, I like a challenge now and again. And I've been busy knitting a few things, some of them were kits that I won in a competition in Knit Today. The first picture, the fingerless gloves, is the competition entry that I won with, the others are the prizes. I'm really into hand knitted socks at the moment. I think I might make some as Christmas presents this year
