Cards using my Promarker pens

I made some cards yesterday and used my Promarkers. I feel that these creations are worth showing to you now that I seem to have mastered them. The first two use a Little Clare stamp, Blissful, two Brenda Pinnick papers from a QVC pack, Nestabilities and the following Promarkers. Ivory, blush, cool aqua, sky blue, pastel pink, lime green, pastel yellow and cinnamon

The third one uses the Clematis Tower stamp from Oak House Studios and pastel blue, blue pearl, lime green and pastel yellow. The flowers are decoupaged. I'm really pleased the way this card turned out. I can see me making good use of this stamp now

Just a quick one

Had some more bad news today. My mother-in-law passed away this morning, only 17 days after my Mum. :o(

Let's Knit Mura shawl

Well I've finished my 2ply shawl from the above magazine. To say that it looks nothing like it's supposed to is an understatement lol. My scalloped edge doesn't have any scallop at all. The pattern said to cast of knitwise which I did but I think it must have meant to cast off knitwise keeping in the pattern. I'm going to undo the cast off row and retry it doing the pattern. It's not going to be easy as the yarn I've used is a mohair and silk mix. Once I've done that I'll need to block it and press it. Hopefully it might look a bit more like it's supposed to then. The amount of yarn required was 100gm approx 1180 metres, mine was 100gm and 1200 metres so I should have a little bit left over. Wrong!!!!! I have lots left over, in fact I have 76gms left, enough for 3 more shawls, as if. I really think I might have got this pattern completely wrong. It would be interesting to know if anyone else has knitted this and how it turned out.

I've got lots of paperwork to do tomorrow re my Mum's affairs (she passed away two weeks ago :o( ) so I'll try to get the shawl sorted and photographed at the weekend.

Bye for now xx

Our works in progress

I thought that today I'd show you what Elizabeth and I are working on. The cross stitch is mine and the knitting Elizabeth's. I've done almost a quarter of mine in about 2 years! I'm not usually that slow but with it being for myself I keep putting it to one side and doing other things instead, like knittig a shawl lol. I'd show you that too but there are too many stitches for me to be able to spead it out without it coming off the needles.
Elizabeth started her scarf on Friday night. I had to rescue it quite a few times but today she's not made one mistake, woohoo! Her friend, Laura, is coming on Wednesday night for our "knitting club", all three of us. She'll be starting her scarf using Big Softy yarn and size 15mm needles. I think she might need a support frame to take the weight of the needles lol

Not this Christmas but last year

As I've not got much to say about today, just shopping and a few rows of knitting. One thing I have done for Christmas this year is booked for myself, hubby and children (both adults) to go to a local eatery for our Christmas Day lunch. I can do a Christmas dinner any day of the year and it will be perfect. Do it on Christmas Day and I should just put it in the bin without putting it on the plates first!!!!!! Has anyone else ever had their Christmas dinner in a restaurant or hotel? If this works out I can see it becoming a regular treat :o)

Here are some of last year's offerings

I'm still here, again

I've had another bad month. Mum was admitted to hospital last month and sadly passed away last week. I've done hardly anything over the past few weeks other than going to the hospital and sorting out Mum's affairs. Just said goodbye to my son, Michael, as he's now on his way back to Germany after coming home for the funeral.

If anyone fancies coming to my house and doing a bit of housework just let me know and I'll welcome you with open arms. I've not done much as regards housework let alone crafting, apart from a bit of knitting.

I'm knitting a shawl that was in Let's Knit over three months done in 2ply. The yarn I'm using was a prize from CraftBubble but I've lost the ball band and I can't remember whose yarn it is.

One highlight has been my attempt at teaching my 23 year old daughter and her friend how to knit. Elizabeth has started knitting a scarf in pom-pom yarn and is managing about 2 rows before I have to rescue it lol Here's a photo of lesson one. I'll have to take a picture of Elizabeth (on the right) with her scarf
