Play Date Cafe Challenge #129

I don't get to play the PDC challenge very often.  I'm usually caught out by the early finish of Tuesday lol.

The challenge is to use the colours dusk, magenta and seedling, and the photo

So here's my card

I've had these stamps a good while but this is the first time that they've been inked up.  I used an edgeability die for the border.  I wanted something a bit different to the standard Nestabilities, this looks more like Swiss cheese lol

I stamped the images onto card and cut them out.  Even though they are flat onto the background paper there is still dimension plus I added a pale grey shadow to the left hand side of the images

I stamped the sentiment directly onto the paper

I stamped the flower three times and then cut them down to arrange them all going off the page

Most times when I use this stamp I stamp it onto paper as I think it looks really pretty used this way

Pink and Green part 1

I've made two cards today and they are both pink and green so they'll both be in more than one challenge. I have cased the design from a card that I saw on Friday at a craft show using a Dimension Stamp

My first card will be in

Divas by Design challenge #32  which is for buttons and/or bows.  I hope that this card is acceptable for the challenge having just one button and a knot pretending to be a bow lol they are also digi images not 3D

I stamped the heart onto various scraps of paper from Nitwits collections and cut them out then used 3D gel to attach them to the card

The button does look more dimensional in real life, maybe I should have added thread before attaching it to the card. 

I love this cotton twill "ribbon" and wish that I could tie a real knot as good

I used the same papers to mount the sentiment as on the background, inking all the papers around the edges

A Card for Erin

This is the birthday card that I have made for my Great-Niece (ooh! that makes me feel really old lol) Erin for her first birthday, next month

I am entering it into the following challenges

This is a big card, 8" x 8"  I've not made one in this size for a long time.  I'll have to make an envelobox for it as it's quite deep with the decoupage

I enjoy making the background papers with the child's name and age on it

The images didn't look right at first when I placed them on the pink but thanks to my trusty Cuttlebug and a couple of embossing folders they turned out quite good

Whimsy Stamps challenge #36 to use distressing.  I have inked all the edges of my papers and card

I Love ProMarkers challenge #114  to have a floral image as the focal point

Stampin' Sisters in Christ challenge #136 based around Psalm 119:105 the card to be light, using pastel colours

These two stamps were together on one plate but I separated  them so that I could use them individually too

The Stampin' Sisters in Christ challenge said to use pastels, which I have, but because of the detail on the stamp the blue looks quite dark

I used a peel off for the sentiment directly on to the card as I didn't want to cover up more of the background which was pre-printed.  It was only when I was putting my label on the back that I noticed the manufacturer's name, Studio Light.  So even that fits with SSIC challenge lol

Take a Letter

The Divas by Design challenge 31 is anything but a card.  I'm also entering it into

Word Art Wednesday #24 which is to use the scriptural word art provided or any other scriptural or inspirational quote

I bought a desk top storage system from Asda for the grand sum of £4.00 and I've altered the letter rack for these two challenges.

 My inspiration for this came from a design by Susan Wherry in the May issue of Craft Stamper magazine

I did consider decorating it with letters but that would be too corny even for me lol

When I glued the decorated card to the letter rack I used paper clips to hold it all together while it dried but, unfortunately, they have left indents but as it's just for me I can live with it :o)

The original project was done using botanical imagery which I was going to use but decided to add my own touch by using flourishes.  Edged the flat edges with a Promarker and distressed the edges with the Memento ink

The rack with the rest of the storage system which I am now going to have to decorate too

Creative Card Crew Ribbon challenge DT card

This is the card that I've made for our challenge at The Creative Card Crew

We are sponsored by The Paper Shelter who are very kindly giving a $20 gift voucher to our random winner.  There are lots of fabulous images available both coloured and uncoloured

 I chose to use the Cute Dressmaker pre-coloured image, back ground paper and label as I love the colours that have been used

Not a bad match with the colour of the stamped sentiment on the label

I didn't want to do the usual ribbon embellishment and remembered that I had some flower ribbon in my stash.  It was certainly meant to be as the colour is a perfect match and flowers themselves match into the backing paper and the dress.  I had some left over so I snipped them apart and scattered them in the background.  I printed the dressmaker twice so that I could layer it up

ABC challenge N

I've made this card for my nephew's birthday next month.  I'm entering it into the ABC N for neutral challenge

This isn't a stamp that I would have gone out to buy but it was included in the latest Docrafts grab bag.  This is the second one that I've bought and they really are good value for the money, even taking into account the items that I know I won't use

I'm really pleased with the way this has turned out and I will definitely use it again.  I might try full colour next time

Allsorts #150

The challenge over at Allsorts is to use buttons and threads

I'm also entering it into the Paper Pretties Wednesday challenge a card for a girl

The majority of this card has been made using elements from the Nitwits Thimbles and Threads collection 

The banner is a Nitwit stamp that was a magazine freebie but I don't know which collection it comes from.  I used Memento ink pad in Rhubarb Stalk (my all time favourite colour of all my ink pads) and the sentiment is a Country Companions stamp.  With real buttons and thread

Less is More #63

This week at Less is More #63 the challenge is for a one layer card but with a twist of doodling

I'm pleased with how I've coloured the stamp for this card.  It's not usually as good as this lol

My second lot of doodling doesn't really show up very well.  I added some more water by using a fine nib Promarker and dabbing it on to the card

Catch the Bug challenge

The challenge this week at Catch the Bug is a photo inspiration one, and here is the photo

I love this image but I don't know the stamp designer.  I received several of these in a stamped image swap but there is no ID on the back

It's lovely to colour, especially with my Promarkers, and decoupage

Paper Pretties Monday challenge #35  to use embossing, dry or heated, I've used both to be on the safe side lol

The stamped embossing shows up more "in the flesh" with just a tiny bit of Midnight Blue

I don't know how I'd manage without my embossing folders now

Stampin' Sisters in Christ #135

As the title says these cards are for the SSIC challenge #135
As always the challenge is inspired by scripture, this one being Colossians 1:27b and we are challenged to be transparent

I'm making my cards 2 by 2 of late lol  Just as easy making two the same providing that they're not heavily laden with embellishments

Even though the depth from the card to the peel offs is exactly the same as if I had omitted the acetate, it's surprising that the acetate makes such a difference to the appearance

You can see the shadows of the stars and baubles on the card and, of course the acetate catches the light and adds a bit more life to the design

The materials used are very few, base card, acetate, peel offs and 3D foam pads, all from my stash.  I can't even tell you the name of the manufacturer of the peel offs as it doesn't say on the sheet

ABC Christmas G for Gold

Gradually catching up with the target I have set myself with my Christmas cards

This card is for the ABC Christmas G for gold challenge

Once that I'd decided on my design it didn't take very long to put it together.  Definitely a design for mass production

I embossed the base card which has given the card added depth

I forgot to use an anti-static bag and a few bits of embossing powder are where they shouldn't be!
