I've had this image sitting on my craft table for over a week but I was just stuck as to I was going to use it.  We went to our son's house for the weekend as it was our granddaughter's Christening yesterday.  My daughter in law, Aisling, has lots of kitchen ware in the Cath Kitson style including an apron.  She came through to the lounge to tell us that our Sunday dinner was almost ready to be served.  As soon as I saw her I knew how I was going to use the image.  She was all rosy cheeked and had a glass of wine in her hand.  Perfect inspiration!

Our Sunday dinner didn't come in a pizza box lol and was most enjoyable.  It was good to see Bronwyne tucking in to her dinner too.  She's really enjoying eating solids and enjoys most things

My father-in law had sent Aisling a grey chiffon scarf and she used it to keep her hair out of the way while she was cooking.  Another great match to the image.  I added stripes to the apron and pink and green dots to try and represent flowers on the fabric.  The pink doesn't show up very well in the photos but it's noticeable in the flesh

Tomorrow morning we are going to visit our son and his family for the weekend.  Bronwyne is getting Christened on Sunday so it will be lovely to be there.  Elizabeth is Godmother.  We've not seen them in person since the week after new year but we have been on Skype so Bronwyne won't forget us lol  Last time we were on I asked for a "kiss for Granny" and she tried to kiss the computer, bless her.  I hope that she's been saving them up for me.

I've made this card for my daughter to give to her godson with his Easter egg

This card qualifies for spring with more than just the season with the bunny bouncing around on a pogo stick

I cut the bunny using an oval Nestabilities die but I had cut around the ears so that I could pull them through the die so that they wouldn't get cut.  There must be a proper name for this technique

I started out with my Card Candy collection by buying a pastel set and a bright set and quickly realised that I would want a lot more colours and would need a couple of storage containers to keep them all separate.  Then I had a brainwave!  Just bought a big pot of white and now colour my own using ProMarkers or ink pads to co-ordinate with the rest of the card

maybe a grain of sugar lol   I got this stamp in a goody bag and I know that I won't use it.  It's one and a half inches by three and a quarter. For Fans of LOTV

I don't have many LOTV stamps even though I love them all    but thanks to Papercraft Inspirations I now have 20 stamped images to play with.  The free gift is the the stack of 20 images and a pack of 8 colouring pencils.  They have had the images before but there are only a few duplicates.  Well worth the £4.99 for the magazine.

What's black and white and "read" all over?

My card(s) for the Papertake Weekly challenge  I'm not truly happy with these cards but as I've made them I'll show them

I couldn't make my mind up as to do a black background with a red topper or a red background with a black topper so I did both

can't you tell that I'm not a ribbon person? I must have tried about 4 ribbons for each card in various widths and styles so stuck to the many ribbons that I've taken from tops!!

I edged all the cards with an ink pad which is my "in" technique of the moment

With using the chandeliers the sentiment needed to be fancy rather than plain

It has been noticed that I use an awful lot of freebie stamps lol but for the ones that I use I must have had twice as many that I've never used nor likely too .  It's the same with the freebie papers, I've lost count of how many 6"x6" paper pads and stamps that I've sold on E-Bay, always showing and mentioning in the description that they were a free cover gift from a magazine.  But what I want to know is how come I spend so much on papers etc when I use so many freebies.  Answers on a postcard please lol

ABC Christmas

The ABC Christmas challenge this week is to use a charm.  I bought a couple of charms last weekend to do this challenge and it's taken me all week to find them again!!

 This was a quick and easy card to make

I'm really into colouring the edges of any card or paper than I'm using at the moment.

I've had this stamp for years and thought that it was time to give him another outing.  A bit of sparkle and he's happy!

Paper Pretties Monday #26  using flowers. 

I stamped the background with a flower stamp in different colours but there wasn't any detail on the petals.  I would normally colour them with Promarkers but as I had stamped directly on to the card I didn't want any colour to seep through the card.  I have found that using the Promarkers with a fine tip the colour stays on the front.  I haven't tried fully colouring with the fine tip as yet but will let you know when I do

I thought that I'd have a change from colouring the little posy by using flower gems instead.  I've had these forever so thought that it was about time that I used them

Paper Pretties Wednesday challenge #193  To create a card with a "unique" fold.  This card has been made using the waterfall technique

I haven't made a waterfall card for quite a while so when I saw the challenge from Paper Pretties I thought that I'd make one as folding is the basis of the waterfall.  The above photo shows the card as it would be when taken from the envelope

Less is More #54 stripes

Firstly I'd like to say welcome to my new follower, Marcia.  I hope that you enjoy what you see, here on my blog

This week's challenge at Simply Less is More is a one layer card with stripes.  There are lots of ways to add stripes, stamp them, print them, emboss them, draw them but everything I thought of either didn't work out as I wanted or I felt that they were too close in similarity to other cards submitted.  So I thought that I would leave it for now and concentrate on other challenges.  The Play Date Cafe challenge is black, white with a hint of hot pink.  So as I was scouring my boxes for something in hot pink a light went on in the old brain and so my LIM card was born!!!

When I came across my set of  stitches stamps I remembered about the set of stamps that I got as a magazine freebie which had the dress form included.  I chose to use the chain stitch stamp for this card

I always stamp onto scrap paper to make sure that I get a good impression.  The edges of the stamp seemed a bit raggedy so I rubbed it over with fine emery paper.  I have always been dubious about attacking my stamps with sandpaper until I tried it with a Silky Mitt paper.  They're the ones that you can buy in most chemists or shops like Superdrug and Bodycare, and are meant to be used  to rub away  hair growth.  They give really good results with the stamps

The areas on the dress form which were left white I decided to add the hot pink colour to match the challenge using the Cerise ProMarker with a fine nib.  With using the fine nib the colour hasn't seeped through the card

I haven't put a sentiment or greeting on this yet as it something which I would normally personalise

I added the texture to the backing card, which is re-cycled Christmas packaging, using my Cuttlebug and embossing folder

I have made this 3D but I have only used a tiny gap between the layers as the paper isn't as sturdy as I would like it for a bigger gap

Word Art Wednesday

WooHoo!!!!  I've got my linking and better picture uploading back yeyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!

I really must try and get things done earlier.  I always seem to be entering challenges just hours before the deadlines!

The scripture for this week's Word Art Wednesday challenge is "I know my Redeemer lives Job 19:25"

For all it being late it was a quick and easy one to do

I created an Easter card and matching bookmark using the scripture.  I know it isn't one that would normally be used for Easter but I think this has worked out ok. It's given my hill top stamp a new look for this year

I drew around the Nestability die for the verse as I wanted them both to be flat

I have really gone back to basics with this project using ordinary colouring pencils which is something that I haven't already done with this image

The bookmark was created using the off-cut produced when cutting a 6x6 card and I've added magnetic strip so that it won't fall out of the book too easily

Masculine cards seem to be the ones that we all stumble over. I've done quite a few now with these dies from Spellbinders. They cover all ages from the late teens upwards.

I didn't have enough "oil on water" card to cut out all the sprockets so I used a textured gold card and coloured them with ProMarkers

The background paper was a bit flat so I've added stamped images to lift it using two colours. Thought that the border of the stamp tied in with the sentiment and the sprockets.

I distressed the edges of the card with DI pad from Tim Holtz

Not a red rose for Valentine's Day but who says that you can't have a sunflower?

I love this sunflower image, plus I was able to make good use of my Promarkers fine tips in the centre of the flower

I edged all the papers and cardstock with a Distress ink pad

What would I do without these sentiment stamps?

I think that I'm happiest with just plain matting and layering in my card making but I must start using the yards and yards of ribbon and lace that I have in one of my boxes!

I created the background by stamping tiny snowflakes in silver directly on to the card

What better way to celebrate the love shown by God but in acknowledgement of the arrival of His Son into our world

This stamp shows the names that are attributed to God and Jesus. I love the verse Isaiah 9:6 which foretells the names of Jesus.

I made this card by using two of the strips of card that I had cut off A5 to make square cards. I joined them together with a strip of aqua coloured card.

The paisley panel was stamped and clear embossed and then matted on to another piece of the aqua card and placed so that the distance between the two edges of the white card and the top were the same.

The sentiment was also stamped and clear embossed
